Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is the most common cosmetic dental procedure. We perform many teeth whitening procedures each year. Often, teeth whitening is performed to complement other improvements such as porcelain veneers or crowns. In our office, teeth whitening with Britesmile or Zoom are the most popular since it is done in a single appointment which lasts 1-2 hours. At home, teeth whitening is also quite effective. This approach requires patient to use forms made in our office that fit their teeth closely. A teeth whitening material is placed in the form by the patient and worn for 1 hour each day. Most noticeable results are usually achieved in 10-14 days.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers provide patients with a conservative approach to improving the appearance of their teeth. In many cases, the alignment, color and/or the surface of teeth can be improved with minimal change thus enhancing the smile and general overall appearance of patients. The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry found in surveys that an improved smile was considered the most important component of an attractive general appearance. In addition, increased self confidence was most often noted as a result of a cosmetically enhanced smile. Since porcelain veneer treatment can often be completed in only 2 appointments, is minimally invasive and long lasting, many patients find this to be a most desirable approach in enhancing an individual's smile. In recent years, dental implants have become a standard treatment option for replacing a missing tooth or teeth. The dental implant acts as an artificial root for the tooth. On top of the dental implant, a porcelain crown is placed. The crown can be designed to match other nearby teeth providing a replacement that can improve appearance and function of the teeth. In our office, we place dental implants and the porcelain crowns that go on top of them. All dental implant procedures, from start to completion, are done in our facility in Dover. This simplifies the process and makes it more convenient to our patients. A few results are shown below of patients that have received dental implants.

Advanced cosmetic techniques can be employed with specialized materials to repair and reshape teeth. Unsightly silver amalgam fillings can be replaced in the esthetic zone, improving the appearance of a patients smile. Makeovers can be accomplished in one visit using new state of the art materials. These materials can be blended exactly with natural teeth to enhance or improve a patients' smile.
